有位婦人走到屋外，看見前院坐著三位有著長白鬍鬚的老人。
她並不認識他們。
於是說： 我想我並不認識你們，不過你們應該餓了，請進來吃點東西吧。
家裡的男主人在嗎？老人們問。
「不在」婦人說： 他出去了。
那我們不能進去。老人們回答說。
傍晚當她的丈夫回家後，婦人告訴丈夫事情的經過。
去告訴他們我在家裡了，並邀請他們進來！
婦人走出去邀請三位老人進屋內。
我們不可以一起進去一個房屋內。老人們回答說。
為什麼呢？婦人想要瞭解。
其中一位老人解釋說：他的名字是財富。指著他的一位朋友說。然後又指著另外一位說：他是成功，而我是愛。接著又補充說：妳現在進去跟妳丈夫討論看看，要我們其中的哪一位到你們的家裡。
婦人進去告訴她丈夫剛剛談話的內容。她丈夫非常高興的的說：原來是這麼一回事啊！讓我們邀請財富進來！
婦人並不同意，說到「親愛的，我們何不邀請成功進來呢？」!
他們的媳婦在屋內的另一個角落聆聽他們談話。並插進自己的建議「我們邀請愛進來不是更好嗎？」
丈夫對其太太講「就讓我們照著媳婦的意見吧！」「快去請愛來作客。」
婦人到屋外問那三位老者「請問哪位是愛？」愛起身朝屋子走去。另外二者也跟著他一起。
婦人驚訝地問財富和成功：「我只邀請愛，怎麼連你們也一道來了呢？」
老者齊聲回答：「如果你邀請的是財富或成功，任一另外二人都不會跟進， 而你邀請愛的話，那麼無論愛走到哪，我們都會跟隨。哪兒有愛，那兒就有財富和成功。」

Love, Wealth and Success
A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them. She said "I don't think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat."
"Is the man of the house home?” they asked. "No", she said. "He's out." "Then we cannot come in", they replied.
In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. "Go tell them I am home and invite them in!" The woman went out and invited the men in. "We do not go into a House together," they replied. "Why is that?" she wanted to know.
One of the old men explained: "His name is Wealth," he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, "He is Success, and I am Love." Then he added, "Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home."
The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. "How nice!!" he said. "Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!" His wife disagreed. "My dear, why don't we invite Success?"
Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: "Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!"
"Let us heed our daughter-in-law's advice," the husband said to his wife. "Go out and invite Love to be our guest."
The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, "Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest." Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him.
Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success: "I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?"
The old men replied together: "If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would've stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever he goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!"
Where there is pain, I wish you peace and mercy.
Where there is self-doubting, I wish you a renewed confidence in your ability to work through your troubles.
Where there is tiredness, or exhaustion, I wish you understanding, patience, and renewed strength.
Where there is fear, I wish you love, and courage.
