父母恩重難報經

源起：

證嚴法師曾經開示：「行善、行孝是人生不能等的兩件事」，值此時代之因緣，慈濟基金會願藉由佛教之孝道經典『父母恩重難報經』加上現今社會現象之呈現所編詞譜曲成的舞台音樂手語劇，讓演出者與觀眾共同省思人我互動，體會父母鴻恩，進而懂得感恩與惜緣。

宗旨：

一、提升社會善良風氣。

二、發揚傳統「孝道」倫理。

三、透過文化之教化功能，達到「人心淨化、社會祥和、天下無災難」的理想。

四、凝聚大眾善心，打造愛的建設，以期達成「關懷生命、心靈提昇」的目標。

詮釋構想及特色：

以佛教經典中關於孝道的一部經----「父母恩重難報經」為整個活動的主軸，藉由音樂、歌曲、戲劇、手語、肢體、樂器演奏以及影片等多媒體的方式，以許多真實感人的故事來彰顯現代人在忙碌的生活裡對父母的忽視，重新找回孝道倫理以及明瞭種種難以回報的父母恩。

In ancient Chinese culture, the etiquette of respect has always been highly regarded. This includes respect toward all living beings and nature. Nature's gifts and nourishments are essential to our existence. Thus we must be grateful and reverent toward nature. Our relationship with nature is equivalent to that of parents and children.The children must hold utmost gratitude toward the parents' unconditional love. This is the principle of filial piety. We all must love, honor, and respect our parents for their kindness.

In recent years, the earth's population has grown dramatically. Although people are physically closer to one another, we are farther apart emotionally. Relationships have become more superficial, general respect for one another has faded, and family kinships have weakened.

Master Cheng Yen believes that acts of kindness and filial piety are the two important things in life that we cannot delay. This year, Tzu Chi Foundation presents the musical drama "Sutra of Profound Gratitude toward Parents", an ancient Buddhist scripture written over 2,000 years ago on filial piety. Through original compositions and lyrics accompanied by sign language, this musical drama brings to life the principles of the ancient text. Through this performance, let us comprehend and sincerely appreciate the unconditional love of all parents.
